An early morning beer run turned into a violent dust-up at at the Forest Grove convenience store.
According to Police a 16-year-old Forest Grove boy and Brendon Malloy, 20, of Forest Grove, walked into a Plaid Pantry, located at 2436 19th Ave., shortly after midnight on Aug. 28.
The pair grabbed some beer, then attempted to walk out of the store without paying.
That's when the clerk grabbed the 16-year-old and attempted to stop him from leaving.
Malloy, police said, punched the clerk in the back of the head, then bolted.
Two bystanders ran to the scene and held down the 16-year-old until Forest Grove Police arrived.
Malloy was located in Cornelius by a Cornelius Police officer.
He was charged with Robbery in the Second Degree and Harassment and lodged at the Washington County Jail.
The 16-year-old was charged with Robbery in the First Degree and turned over to the custody of the Washington County Juvenile Department.
According to police, the clerk suffered no serious injury during the attack.

Wow, kudos to the clerk who had the guts to step up and do something rather than watch it happen and call the police ten or thirty minutes later. Good job to Forest Grove PD and Cornelius PD for catching Brendon and juvenile friend and taking appropriate enforcement action.
Well, Brendon and friend, was the beer worth going to prison? Oh, lemme guess, you just finished smoking a bowl and wanted a brew to top it off...
