Pacific University is expected to announce Tuesday that Lesley M. Hallick, a provost at Oregon Health & Science University, will be the school's next president.
Hallick, is the last candidate in the running for the job, according to the Index, the student-run newspaper at Pacific University’s Forest Grove campus.
The Pacific Index posted a story on its Web site Monday morning noting that local papers in Washington and Iowa have reported that both other candidates for the Pacific president job are out of the running.

Hallick has spent more than 30 years at OHSU, rising from scientist to senior administrator. Higher education observers say Hallick will bring skills in fostering public-private partnerships and could help Pacific raise its profile among universities in Oregon. Her background in health is another asset for the Pacific, which has an optometry clinic in Forest Grove and a health professions campus in Hillsboro.
Hallick serves on a number of higher education boards and is considered a well-respected, energetic leader.
Hallick will replace Phil Creighton, who in his seven years at the private college, oversaw an unprecedented expansion of facilities.
Pacific officials declined to comment on the Pacific Index story Monday. The university will issue a press release and hold announcement events Tuesday morning in Forest Grove and Portland.
