Community Action of Washington County will host an energy fair on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cornelius Elementary School, 200 N. 14th Place, Cornelius.
The free event, which includes refreshments, door prizes, children’s activities and health screenings, includes information about lowering your energy bills and improving the safety and comfort of your home.
Workshop topics will include Reducing Your Carbon Footprint; Furnace Basics; Household Mold Control; and Easy Steps to Greener Cleaning.
Free cholesterol screenings and blood pressure checks will be featured as well.
Kids’ activities will include face painting and a drawing contest. There will be hourly door prizes, including gift baskets, energy savings kits and a $50 gift card.
A free hot dog lunch will be offered at noon.
