Michael Owen, a naturopathic physician who operates a clinic in Forest Grove, will give a free seminar on Type 2 diabetes from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10 at Forest Grove Health & Fitness, 2329 Pacific Ave.
Owen will explain what diabetes is and how genetic and environmental factors such as obesity, the “American diet” and lack of exercise play major roles in this disease.
According to the American Diabetes Association, millions of Americans have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Among high risks groups are Latinos, African Americans and the elderly.
