There are some new faces in principals’ offices all over the Forest Grove School District this week.

In honor of American Education Week Nov. 16-20, seven community leaders are serving as guest “Principals For A Day” at six local grade schools and the middle school, said Connie Potter, communications director.

The annual event promotes the idea that it’s important for movers and shakers in communities get to know their public schools first-hand, Potter noted.

This year’s volunteer “principals” include Maria Loredo, chief operations officer for Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center (Echo Shaw Elementary School); Capt. Aaron Ashbaugh, Forest Grove Police Department spokesman (Joseph Gale Elementary School); Stan Reasoner, assistant manager at Forest Grove Parr Lumber (Cornelius Elementary School); Teri Koerner, executive director of the Forest Grove Chamber of Commerce (Harvey Clarke Elementary); John DiFalco, partner in WSC Insurance (Neil Armstrong Middle School); Chris Ingram, president of Hi-Tech Rockfall Construction (Fern Hill Elementary School), and T.J. Buehler, partner in Drew & Buehler Financial Services (Gales Creek Elementary School).
