Annual display contest lights up Cornelius

Neither rain nor single-digit temperatures can keep members of the Knight family from their appointed rounds in December.

Former Cornelius Mayor Neal Knight recently recruited some friends to join his family in picking winners for the annual Holiday Light Parade in his town. They settled on:

• George Glass, Forest Hills Mobile Home Park #38 (Chris Knight’s choice)

• Terry and Cheryl Schnepp, 247 S. Nectarine (Neal Knight’s choice)

• The Owen Goans family, 1639 S. Dogwood (Casey Knight’s choice)

• The Stiles family, 2800 S. Alpine St. (Luke Knight’s choice)

• John and Amy Harmon, 600 S. 25th Ct. (The “Spirit of Christmas Award” from the Scott McDonald family)

• Ray Mitchell, 784 N. 28th Ave. (“In memory of Michael Gottwald Award” from Mari Gottwald)
