You may think you’re the only person on the planet who doesn’t know how to send an e-mail or look up a website.
But Linda Minor, reference librarian at the Forest Grove Library, knows that’s not true.
“We hear from people all the time wanting computer classes for beginners,” she said. “We used to refer them to the senior center or Portland Community College.”
Pacific University librarians Lynda Irons and Isaac Gilman will offer classes for those new to computers from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 11. For those who prefer evenings, there’s a class from 6 to 7:15 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 25.
“Bigger libraries offer classes like this. We just haven’t had the staff,” said Minor. They do now: Irons and Gilman are volunteering their services.
Class size is limited to the number of computers available, so registration is required. To register, see a librarian at the library or call 503-992-3247. You must have a current library card free of blocks and know your library password.
